„Wenn ich muss, dann muss ich“

 is a social design project dealing with public toilets as part of the necessary structure in everyday life, as well as in its „charged“ relation between the private and the public.

The project contained of regular columns in the newspaper Augustin, artistic research through participatory public interventions and performative actions in and around public toilets in Vienna. One of final outcomes were the „first viennese toilet talks“ / „die ersten Wiener Klo-Gespräche“.

The spaces initiate a discourse regarding the concrete body functionality, following power structors and the imparting in society beyond the term culture.
